Martial Arts & Wrestling
Traditional TaeKwonDo (TKD) is a martial discipline that combines hand-to-hand combat techniques with self-defense, exercise, and sport. Training in TKD systematically encompasses: blocks, kicks, open/closed-handed strikes, in addition to take-downs, sweeps, throws, and joint locks. The versatility of TKD becomes a dynamic basis for our students, and serves as a bridge to learn Hosin-Kong Soo Do (HKS), an Aiki Jujitsu system.
Kickboxing, a ring-sport, is taught in conjunction with our TKD curriculum. Many traditional schools teach students to pull back their punches, kicks, and strikes while sparring. In Kickboxing, sparring is conducted virtually in full contact. Training in this fashion conditions and tempers a practitioner’s body, as it does his or her mind and will.
Collegiate-style Wrestling: wrestling, Within the circles of ring-sport athletes, wrestling remains debateably the most mentally and physically taxing. Incorporating all the major muscle groups of the body wrestling requires an exceptional combination of: strength, endurance, and character. When combined these qualities enable a wrestler to overcome
and claim victory over a physically stronger or fit opponent.
